Position Title: Soils & Geotechnical Engineer

Department Location: Richboro, PA

We are seeking a  motivated and detail-oriented Geotechnical Engineer to support our  team in Land Development Design & Permitting.

Dumack Engineering is seeking a Utility Engineer with experience in water and sewer infrastructure design and a strong understanding of permitting processes with local, county, and state agencies (including PA DEP). The ideal candidate will support the planning, design, and permitting of municipal and private utility projects while collaborating with internal project teams and external stakeholders. 

Primary Responsibilities:      

• Perform and/or oversee      field soil investigations, percolation tests, and infiltration testing.
• Prepare geotechnical and      infiltration reports for municipal and regulatory submissions.
• Evaluate soil      characteristics, groundwater conditions, and suitability for stormwater      BMPs.
• Assist with Phase I      Environmental Site Assessments (research, site inspections, report      preparation).
• Support Phase II      investigations, including sampling coordination and documentation.
• Interpret laboratory and      field test results to provide engineering recommendations.
• Work with project      managers and design teams to integrate geotechnical findings into site      designs.
• Experience with      infiltration testing procedures, soil classification, and environmental      due diligence.
• Familiarity with      municipal stormwater regulations and PA BMP Manual.
• Ability to prepare      clear, concise technical reports.
• Strong fieldwork      capabilities and comfort with outdoor work conditions.
• Communicate with      clients, regulatory agencies, and subcontractors as needed.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:  5+ years of experience in water and sewer design, permitting and regulatory compliance. 

Licensure:  PE license in PA and/or NJ or ability to get licensed 

Skills Needed:

· Attention to Detail: Ability to manage multiple projects & good follow-through and self-implemented quality control measures. 

· Communication Skills:  Excellent oral and written skills. 

 Software: Experience with AutoCAD software as well as the ability to work with programs including Adobe Acrobat, MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) 

· Team Player: Willingness to work collaboratively with surveyors, technicians and engineers.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000 to $125,000 depending on experience

Expected hours: 40 per week
