Position Title: Environmental Technician (Entry Level) Department: Location: Richboro, PA
Company Overview: Join our dynamic team at Dumack Engineering, a leading civil engineering firm providing engineering, planning and surveying services; dedicated to sustainable solutions and excellence. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Technician to support our team.
Primary Responsibilities:
Stormwater Infiltration/ Permeability Testing: Conduct and record storm water infiltration testing utilizing double ring infiltrometer testing method.
On Lot Septic Testing: Assist with soil testing and perform percolation tests to evaluate soil permeability capabilities; assist in the design and approval of septic systems.
Sewage Facilities Planning Modules: Prepare and submit planning modules and other necessary water and sewer approvals for land development projects, follow up with regulatory agencies to ensure timely approvals.
Soil Compaction Field Testing: Conduct soil compaction tests using a nuclear density gauge, ensuring proper soil compaction for construction projects.
Qualifications:
Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: Previous experience in environmental testing or fieldwork is a plus but not required. Training will be provided.
Skills Needed:
· Attention to Detail: Ability to perform precise measurements and record data accurately.
· Physical Stamina: Capability to work in various field conditions, often requiring physical labor, able to lift up to 50 lbs.
· Basic Technical Skills: Familiarity with using field testing equipment and basic soil science concepts.
· Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication to report findings and collaborate with team members.
· Team Player: Willingness to work collaboratively with other technicians and engineers.
· Plus: Experience with nuclear density gauges for soil compaction testing is an advantage. Any CAD experience is a plus.
