Our Story

Dumack Engineering serves the public within the disciplines of engineering and surveying. Since 1964, we have faithfully accepted the many responsibilities required in the planning and design of successful structural & civil engineering projects.

Whether its land development or subdivision design, alta surveys, historic renovations, boundary or topographic surveying, stormwater design, new construction or building additions, Dumack Engineering is positioned to provide engineering expertise.

Dumack is a second-generation family-run business based in Richboro, PA.  Opened in 1964 as a sole proprietorship, the firm incorporated in 1973 as “Ralph C. Dumack, PE and Associates” in Pennsylvania founded on structural engineering.  In 2005, the corporate name was changed to “Dumack Engineering, PC” to better reflect our expanded capabilities. Our firm has experienced strong growth by continuing to deliver the highest quality services to our clients and partners.  Dumack is an equal opportunity employer and a Pennsylvania Certified Small Business.

Heath Dumack, P.E.

President

Heath A. Dumack, P.E., P.L.S. C.M.E., C.F.M. & F. A.S.C.E.

Heath A. Dumack, President/Owner of Dumack Engineering, P.C., has served the construction industry in the field of civil & structural engineering for over 31 years. He has a vast knowledge of engineering as well as managing a small business.  Mr. Dumack is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in 40 states and a Professional Land Surveyor in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and State of Delaware. He is also a Certified Municipal Engineer in the State New Jersey.  For the past 15 years, Mr. Dumack has been the lead of Dumack Engineering, which was started in1964 by his father, Ralph C. Dumack.Mr. Dumack is very involved in the community, serving on several local area non-profits including St. Mary Medical Center and the Washington Crossing Council of The Boy Scouts of America. In 2016, he was awarded the Spirit of Habitat award for his service and commitment to Bucks County Habitat for Humanity while on their Board of Directors. The company donates in excess of 5% of the firm’s yearly revenue to helping the community.As a youth, he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and continues to be active with the BSA as an Assistant Scoutmaster for his sons’ Scouts BSA Troop. Mr. Dumack lives in Wrightstown, PA with his wife, Karen, and their two children.

John Richardson, P.E.

Head of Land Development

Richardson is registered as a Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania since 2006. He has worked in the construction industry as a design professional.  Mr. Richardson’s background is in both residential and commercial project sites in structural and civil capacities.  Mr. Richardson is currently working in Commercial, Industrial and Residential Site design concentrating in Stormwater Management and related disciplines.  Through his experience he provides innovative ideas and approaches to complete projects in less than ideal locations, while meeting both client and the governing bodies’ requirements.

Jason Van Zelst, P.E.

Head of Structural Engineering

Van Zelst has practiced structural engineering on commercial, residential, industrial, educational, and government facilities. He understands the responsibilities and attention required to deliver a safe and economical product.

Jason has been the project manager and owner’s representative to elevate several homes along the Delaware River, including FEMA grant funded projects. He is a structural expert for emergency restoration projects where immediate response and accelerated design and document preparation is essential.  He is an expert resource for architects and fabricators in the interpretation and implications of changes to the structural requirements of the new International Building Code.
